Hi...Standby your keyboard and the 'post comments' button to share your thoughts on TBWSYL - we might even discuss such biggies as...
- is the doughnut (or donut if we're being Californian) a lifebelt, or just a slightly sickly metaphor with a big hole in the middle?
- is the crazy ensemble of characters too far fetched? or just right for Richard's ricochet-ing journey?
- who's the actor supposed to be...Brad? Johnny? Jack??? (or is it just fiction and I should stop trying to drag real life into it?)
get off your treadmills, put down the alfalfa sprouts, and see you at 9pm

About July's book choice...

I saw this book and was immediately drawn to it as it seems to have all the ingredients of a good read...dysfuntional relationships, mid-life crises, and an insight into the bizarre 'normality' of life in L.A!
It's about the mid-life struggles of a successful L.A. business man - who has gained perfect control of his life...on the outside...but he learns that what's really important in life is human kindness, and it's the little acts of random human interaction that mean a lot. The book makes the point that one shouldn't forget to enjoy the simple/small things in life - like a doughnut (or some fudge!!)
I'm also interested to read a book about a man, written by a woman - compared to June's book choice, which was a book about a woman, written by a man!
