I haven't read any of the Isabel Dalhousie books before so was unsure what it was going to be like especially after finding out that Isabel is a philosopher. But, luckily the story was not bogged down by too many of her thoughts. As it went on the characters opened up and I couldn't put it down in the end. It had a few twists and turns which were extremely unexpected and did not disappoint. I loved the sinister seam running along in the background with the american guests.

This is the first Isabel Dalhousie book I had read also, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The characters were likeable and the storylines intertwine very well. Despite the trials that some of the characters go through, it is a feel-good book which kept a smile on my face.

burnstsugar has picked a lovely book this month. I really enjoyed it. Had not read the Sunday Philosophy Series before, but I went back and read the first two books afterwards. It is always a good test whether you want to know more about characters and I liked Isabel a lot. She was, perhaps, a little too perfect, but I agree with love2read that it was a feel-good book.

Thanks Humz - glad the book choice has gone down well. I've enjoyed it too. It's very gentle, but does get you thinking about everyday moral dliemmas - which I've found interesting. Should lead to a good discussion on Weds eve.
